Simon Herteleer

Chair
Age: 23 ~ Member Association: Sensoa, Belgium

Simon is a 23 year old student in Belgium. He grew up in South America, has always been interested in human rights and has always been an advocate for people who are less fortunate than others. Although he only joined his MA in 2015 Simon has been engaged with topics surrounding SRHR since the age of 12. His father, a doctor and his mother, who worked at the UNDP in Ecuador on HIV Prevention, served as role models for his passion in helping people. He hopes to continue the work he started back in Latin America by empowering young people to teach other young people how to deal with SRHR and find creative and innovative ways of reaching out to them. He hopes to expand the work of YSAFE and his belief is that sexual education and awareness works best when it comes ‘from young people to young people’. Apart from SRHR he is truly passionate about nature conservation, democracy and Human Rights.
